• The materials you upload: notes, slides, documents, images, scans, and past papers.
• Your study activity: chats with Spark, practice attempts, flashcards, and progress.
• Anything you send us when you get in touch.

Information we collect automatically.

• How you interact with the Platform.
• Device and browser information.
• IP address and general location.
• Cookies and similar technologies.

• Provide, run, and improve the Platform.
• Ground your answers, practice, and flashcards in your own material.
• Generate feedback and study suggestions.
• Communicate with you about your account.
• Understand usage so we can make the product better.
• Keep the Platform secure and prevent abuse.

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We share it only:

• With service providers who help us run the Platform: hosting, AI processing, payments, and email.
• To comply with legal obligations.
• To protect our rights and prevent fraud or abuse.
• With your consent.
• As part of a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition.

Service providers may only use your information to do their job, on our instructions. Your content is never used to train models for anyone else.

Syndal is Australian, but some of the service providers that run the Platform operate overseas. When you use Syndal, your information, including the material you upload and your study activity, is disclosed to:

• Cloud hosting, database, and file-storage providers, which may store and process data outside Australia, including in the United States.
• Document-processing and AI providers, which convert your uploads into readable study material and generate answers, practice questions, and flashcards. These may process data in the United States and other countries.
• Payment, email, and analytics providers, primarily located in the United States.

Each provider may only use your information to provide its service to us, under the rules in “How we share information” above. If you have questions about where a specific piece of data lives, email [email protected].

The student owns the account. A parent gets an automatic but deliberately limited view: active days, study activity, quizzes completed, cards reviewed, and scores over time.

A parent never sees the student’s chats, answers, or uploaded work. They see progress, never the words behind it.

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of storage or transmission is ever completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe.

You can:

• Access and review your information.
• Correct details that are wrong.
• Export your data.
• Delete your account and the data tied to it.
• Opt out of marketing messages.

Syndal is built for students, and many are under 18, so we expect a parent or guardian to be across the account. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we’ll remove it.

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll post the new version here and update the date above.
